Halloween Idea #1

Halloween is MY absolute favorite holiday...I think I love the decorating the most.
I wanted to share a quick idea with you - a sort of jumping off point - so to speak.

I also tried something NEW to me...I used my cricut to cut out the words out of
vinyl and used the outside or the negative? {i think}

What you'll need is a 2 by 4 cut into different lengths and some cut vinyl and paint...
*paint a base coat first (wait for it to dry)
*adhere your letters to the base coat and smooth down vinyl really well.
*then pounce the paint on...
I thinking pouncing is the best way to put the paint on so it doesn't
slide under the vinyl....then wait for the paint to dry BEFORE you lift up the stencil.

I plan to add something to the top of the boards - not sure yet what?

You could do this on just about any surface really...oh The Possibilities of it!!

I am adding this to the following parties:

Schools Cool

GAWWWW---I adore the way this card came out.
It has a sort of Christmas-y feel to it. Its a happy card - dont'cha think?
I had this going in a different direction...but once I added all the
embellishments it reminded me of a vintage shabby card
just different colors...

My girls are back in school already going on a month now and I don't
really have anyone to give this too...so If you love it - let me know and I
will send it to you!

I am linking this up to the following challenges:

It's a boy!

Psych!!! NO NOT ME!!!!
My hubby had a baby shower to attend this weekend and I put
this sweet shabby GORGEOUS album together for him to give...
I gotta tell you that this post is filled with photos
above is the cover - simple

Used some fabulous papers by My Minds Eye
and kept is simple - I am thinking black and white photos in this
it would be a total shabby vintage stage...LOVE

I hardly ever use stamps in my albums but I decided to try them here and stamped
WELCOME LITTLE ONE in white ink

This page is kind of not usable in that you cant add s large photo but
you could put a bunch small black and white pictures like a
photo booth style picture (do you get that?)

the page on the left is a pocket page and I included a tag with another
stamped image with the baby info on it.

cute pages - right? love these - the colors are amazing
light blue, greys, and silver accents LOVELY

The last page in the book is another pocket that I added a small
JBS bingo card --- love these small accents. I used my CINCH to bind the book
and only bound it in the center - cuteness....

I am anxiously awaiting to hear the response to this cute album.
Hope she loved it!!!

Been working on so many more albums - and will post them soon.
Im linking this up to

Hope you had a great weekend.

thankful

all this lovely goodness is by Basic Grey ---love love love these colors.

So I found myself feeling extra thankful these last few days:

thankful for my hard working husband - his patience is what keeps me going
thankful for my kids - they really keep me on my toes
thankful that I have made some great new friends that I enjoy being with
thankful that I am healthy and thanful for my commitment to get 'HEALTHIER"
by that I mean lose some weight...I need to - want to - should...

wish me luck...I have been trying for 5 years now....

the sentiment reads:
BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE; YOU'LL END UP
HAVING MORE. IF YOU CONCENTRATE ON WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE YOU WILL NEVER, EVER  HAVE ENOUGH...

I am thankful...
especially for you!
thanks for stopping by!

Blue Sunflower

I gotta tell you I think this card came out so sweetly!
It's simple but I think the colors are just amazing...brown and anything I think works!
and who says in the land of "TINA" there aren't blue sunflowers with glittery accents.

It is so hot here in SoCal and the humidity is not helping my anxiousness.
I hate - loathe - despise feeling STICKY!!!
So I have been spending alot of time in doors in the comfort of the AC
and have been busily painting and making lots of good stuff like this sweet card.

What have you been up to lately?

this card works for the following challenges:

paperplaytime - anything goes
the pink elephant - stitching
the shabby tea room - polk-a-dots

Have a great afternoon

This is what happens WHEN

you try and make a card for a specific challenge:
I was so fixated on making several challenges work that
this is the outcome...yuck!!!

I was working this for a color challenge,
wiinged things challenge, fairy challenge and a under the sea
challenge...I know - crazy right....

This was actually a fairy stamp that I turned tried to turn
into a mermaid better yet a fairy mermaid...
See what I mean it just sounds strange...

Well here it is and not my best work.
But I will stand by my card....sort of

This works for the following challenges:
delightful sketches - things w/wings
play date cafe - color {fudge, teal, golden rod}
digital tuesday - i love the sea
my time to craft - fairy tales/fairys

Scrappy Post

I love scrapbooking and that is where I started but I do believe that I have ADHD
meaning I can't do one thing for a long period of time. My brain has
so many ideas and wants to do so much all in ONE day..
Occasionally I will stick to what I do best and today it is
SCRAPBOOKING...and what better subjects than 2 favorite men of mine..
Here is my oldest fave and youngest fave!

I used paper by wild asparagus {remember them?}
I bought this bundle ages ago. It comes with double sided papers,
title blocks and matching embellishments...Love the kit...
Kept it simple because the picture is what's IMPORTANT here.
no real journaling either - just a note to remind us..

Mainly I made this page for my boys scrapbook...so he can always remember
days like this one.

Hope you are getting your scrapping done...
they'll appreciate it one day, really.

Have a great day - xo

creative card crew - best foot forward
paper take weekly - use flowers
tuesday throwdown - birthday
& can't forget

o.k. so nuff said - But wait if it happens to be your Birthday today,

Scrappy cake

I swear I am SO not lingering on my birthday but I wanted to share
this cake I made awhile back. I am going to tell you how easy it was to make.
and CHEAP...
You know those dollar paper machie boxes that you get at Joannes or Michaels?
so get them in graduated sizes...then get some fun cheerful papers
and "decoupage" them to the outside of the boxes and then the fun...
add some fun trim, ribbon or even some bling

I added flowers and of course the very important CANDLE.
I wouldn't light it - unless of course you are RIGHT there to watch it.
But the coolest part of this cake - is that each of the boxes opens up.
How cool is that? To fill each box with some little trinket-COOLness.

Anyway - these would be cool to make for thank you gifts for a party, or perhaps
make them your signature gift....oh wait - scratch that idea...I'm keeping that one.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend..

xo
p.s. girls are back in school tomorrow...life goes back to normal again..:)

I am so in LOVE with this card. I love the papers and it just looks happy.

I am thrilled because this card works for the following challenges:
mim challenge - things with wings
stampin sisters in christ - any type of creature
scrap creations - buttons or bows
colour create - pink green & white
delightful sketches - stitching real or faux

Happy Birthday to ME

Is it totally narcissistic of me to make myself a birthday card?
I gotta tell you I woke up today a 41 year old and was feeling a bit DOWN.
I woke up feeling like nothing special---see my hubby left last night for
a conference and won't be home until Friday - he did celebrate my bday last week
and was very apologetic for not being here but still I woke up
sad and I woke up missing my mom...she would call me bright and early
on my birthday and sing me a Spanish birthday song...loved that and looked forward to that.

So naw - I don't feel bad making myself a card...after all.

I wrote myself a note inside and will put it away for later reading.

I didn't do much stamping on this one used some fun Cosmo Cricket paper,
MS chipboard BDAY stickers and some fun prima flowers - I also used a
7 gypsies clear button and some number stickers to finish it off and I think it
came out lovely!

Happily this card works for the following challenges:
craft your passion - anything goes
cupcake craft challenge - how old w/numbers
the crafty pad - use something clear

I sure hope you have a wonderful Day...
